Weekly Bake could make you a millionaire….

Millionaire’s Shortbread.  This should be know as Million Calorie Shortbread and to make matters worse, it’s completely addictive.  You have been warned…

Millionaire's Shortbread

Millionaire’s Shortbread, has the classic Scottish Shortbread base, followed by a layer of oozing sticky caramel and a then layer of chocolate. Kids should eat this completely naked and preferably in the bath.  Adults may like to eat it the same way – but that’s strictly between you and your guests!

If the memory of Christmas calories lingers too close for comfort, why not go for something much more sensible but, nonetheless, just as comforting in the winter weather.  Two (yes two) savoury breads to go with your bowl of steaming soup.

First bread, the Crusty Brown Cheddar and Bacon Mini Loaf. Not much explanation needed here, just tangy English Cheddar, bacon and a drizzled of olive oil.

Second, is a take on one of my favourite soups, the good old pea and ham soup.  This, is the Pea and Ham Muffin (spiked with just a hint sweet paprika).

Millionaire’s Shortbread: 12€ for 6
Cheddar & Bacon Mini loaves:
12€ for 3 (enough for six servings)

Pea and Ham Muffins: 10€ for 6

How to order:
As always, just email theenglishbaker@gmail.com any time today or tomorrow (Tues 22nd January or Wed 23rd January) for collection by appointment from The English Baker in Merode on Friday, 25th January.

  1. Merci Victoria pour les succulents muffins au bacon et petits pois : légers, moelleux mais finement croustillants à l’extérieur : ils étaient les bienvenus cette fin de semaine pour se réchauffer!
