Something missing?

You may have noticed that The Weekly Bake has gone missing this week…

My apologies, but The English Baker has been so inundated with Christmas orders that The Weekly Bake has had to be cancelled this week!

But, never fear, next week there will be a Special Extended Christmassy Weekly Bake, so watch out for the Cranberry and Almond Mince Pies and Christmas Pudding Cake Pops, as well as a few other seasonal sizzlers!

Just to prove I haven’t been simply sitting at the kitchen table polishing off that bottle of Christmas Brandy, here are a few of the cakes I’ve made in the last week or so…

Edible worms….

Here’s a quick post – another Birthday Cake from The English Baker.  Lily always has a chocolate hedgehog cake for her birthday (actually it’s the Mikado sticks she really likes).  This year, her mother and I thought her hedgehog might like a friend or two.

My favourite part of this cake is the worms!

The English Baker is going on a busman’s holiday

No, The English Baker is not taking up a second career.  I am taking a break during the summer, and will be doing a couple of baking and decorating courses back in England – like the old English saying about a bus driver going on holiday in his bus, hence a “busman’s holiday”!

Weekly Bakes will be resuming in early September, but The English Baker will still be open for individual orders.  So, if you’ve got a special celebration coming up, or just fancy a nice cream tea in the garden, drop me an email: theenglishbaker@gmail.com.
